Tell me the exact steps you took, from creating/finding the GIF to uploading it as your avatar.

I found the GIF on some site, here's the link to the GIF:

I went to profile, then avatar, and copied and pasted the link in that box where it says "Upload an Avatar from a URL" then hit save.

You might have done the same thing I did. Try pasting the image URL into the bottom line that says something like upload an image from another site
