Tazz: Welcome to RCF SmackDown! Tonight we have a multitude of great matches on the card, topped off by the Cole Coalition teaming up for one more night to take on The Prodigy, Randy Reaume, and the mysterious and aggressive Dark Angel. Will the Coalition work as well as they did as two time tag team champions? We shall see tonight. As you may know, Michael Cole is out with an injury that was sustained in the Anaconda Vice in an unaired interview from Monday Night RAW a few days ago, hands of "The Prodigy" himself.
Jim Ross: What a horrible attack that was.
Tazz: I'm sure Randy will be punished for that in some way, be it a fine or a suspension. Moving on, our first match tonight will be The Rated R Superstar, Edge, taking on a man he has never defeated one on one, John Cena.
Jim Ross: Yeah, but remember, Tazz, Edge has some momentum after pinning John Cena at a house show last night in a tag team match.
Tazz: Will that momentum come to play? Find out next on Friday Night Smackdown.

The fans broke out into cheers for Cena, when a chant of "Let's Go Cena, CENA SUCKS" broke out throughout halves of the arena.

Edge fires off some right and left hands. Cena powers out of a headlock. Cena bodyslams Edge. The referee gets hit by a wild right hand and is down. John Cena turns Edge inside-out with a clothesline. Cover, but there's no one to count for John Cena. Edge powers out of a headlock. Big clothesline on Cena. Edge hits a bulldog off the ropes. Cover! 1....2...kick out. Massive lariat. Pin : 1....2....no! They cut that one close. Edge walks into a trip. John Cena hits a bulldog off the ropes. Pin : 1....2....no! Shoulder up at the last second. Edge hits a right hand out of nowhere. John Cena can barely stand. Spear!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!!

Tazz: My god, JR, we have just seen history in the making! This is the first time Edge has pinned John Cena one on one!
Jim Ross: The question is, how long will Edge be able to hold the United States Title for? Nonetheless, our next match includes two former United States Champions going at it for the number one contendership in the triple threat match that will be at SummerSlam.
Tazz: Will it be Jacob Wolfe or John 'Bradshaw' Layfield? I mean, both of these guys have a considerable amount of momentum going for them.
Jim Ross: It's all about who has more will, who has more determination, who wants it more. JBL or Jacob Wolfe? We'll see, next.

Jim Ross: So it's going to be Wolfe, Cena, and Edge at SummerSlam...man, what an unpredictable contest that is going to be.
Tazz: Definitely will be, but what will be more unpredictable will be the main event! Cole Scorpio takes on the Dark Angel, in what was a former tag team in another federation, in a last man standing match!
Jim Ross: That match will be absolutely amazing. I can't wait to see it!
Tazz: Well, hold your horses, SummerSlam isn't for another month, plus there's plenty to enjoy from the WWE until then. Take this next match, for example. CM Punk, self-proclaimed "Best in the World" takes on the wrestling machine, Kurt Angle!
Jim Ross: Two of the best in this industry go at it tonight in a very unpredictable contest!

When SmackDown goes back on the air, the fans seem to be firmly behind CM Punk in the contest.
CM Punk vs Kurt Angle
Back elbow connects, Punk staggers backward. Angle suplexes CM Punk. Pin : 1....2..no. The match continues. Punk blocks a kick from Kurt Angle. Punk hits a massive spinning kick to the jaw. Hard back suplex on Angle. Pin : 1....2..no. The match continues. Angle walks into a face crusher variation. Hooks the leg : 1....2....shoulder up! That was close. Punk hits a dropkick on Kurt Angle. Angle reverses a waistlock. Vicious back suplex! Cover! 1....2...kick out. Punk gets hit with a splash mountain out of the corner. Hooks the leg : 1....2....shoulder up! That was close. Tazz: Well, the self proclaimed 'best in the world' has proven that he may be the best in the world tonight by beating a real challenge in Kurt Angle!
Jim Ross: Of course, but do you think this will land Punk a match at SummerSlam?
Tazz: I don't know, JR, anything's possible! Let's run up the card so far..
Jim Ross: Well, we just learned a bit earlier that Edge, John Cena, and Jacob Wolfe will compete in a triple threat match for the United States Title!
The matchcard picture appears on the titantron as the announcers begin to discuss it.
Tazz: We have Jacob Wolfe, who just recently beat JBL to gain that opportunity, so that gives him a fair bit of momentum..Edge has momentum from beating Cena..you know, I'd hinder a guess that the only man without momentum in this match..
Jim Ross: ..is John Cena? Well, Cena's showed in the past that he can overcome the odds. Let's continue.
A matchcard picture for Randy Reaume and Mike Cole in a Texas Death Match appears on the titantron.
Tazz: This is certainly going to be the most brutal match of the night.
Jim Ross: No doubt, Tazz. Under Texas Death Match rules, pins or submissions can take place anywhere in the arena and anything is legal.
Tazz: These guys were once enemies in AWO, then friends here, then enemies again when Randy snapped and attacked Mike, calling him 'useless' multiple times.
Jim Ross: Well, I wouldn't say Mike Cole is "useless" in any way, these are both spectacular athletes and this match will certainly be unpredictable and exciting.
*PHILLIP PHILLIPS VS. CHRIS JERICHO, STEEL CAGE MATCH FOR THE WWE TITLE*
Tazz: Ah, yes, the match for the most coveted prize in Sports Entertainment, the WWE title, between two of possibly the best athletes in this business.
Jim Ross: You hit the nail right on the head there. Chris Jericho and Phillip Phillips are definitely two of the best, and deserving of having a match at the biggest even of the summer for the most coveted prize in the WWE.
*ALEX KROSS VS. RANDY ORTON, INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE*
Tazz: The Intercontinental Title match is definitely interesting. It's a very unpredictable contest, either one of these guys could conceivably win.
Jim Ross: Yeah, these two are very evenly matched. Hard to call this one.
Jim Ross: Moving on, our next match tonight is actually for the Intercontinental championship. Alex Kross will take on Chris Benoit for the title, and remember, if Benoit wins, it will be Chris Benoit vs Randy Orton for the Intercontinental title at SummerSlam.

Looking at the replay, it appears that Phillip had taken a chain out of his tights and wrapped it around his fist! Randy Orton must have been punched with that chain while in mid-powerbomb! What a cheap shot!

Tazz: My God, what is Phillip doing?
Jim Ross: Over a dozen chair shots to the spine of Chris Jericho! Come on!
Tazz: This is smart by Phillip here, take out the threats.
Jim Ross: Smart? I think I see a big yellow stripe running down his back right now!
Tazz: A yellow stripe?? Since when has our WWE champion backed away from a fight?
Jim Ross: I can say lots of times...
Tazz: Well, don't bother, because our main event is next! The Cole Coalition, Mike Cole and Cole Scorpio, team up to take on RCF and WEW's resident Prodigy, Randy Reaume.

Randy walked to the ring, smirking and yelling "PRODIGY!" as he did so.
