Background/Gimmick - Raised in a single parent household with his mother and brother in the south. Eli Sykes never knew his father, who had walked out his mom when he was born. He barely saw his mom as a child since she worked double shifts everyday to be able to take care of her two children and herself as well. Eli and his brother James spent their time as kids practicing wrestling moves on each other. They both were very passionate about wrestling, even at a young age, looking up to guys such as Hulk Hogan, Undertaker and Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. When he turned fourteen he got a job at a hole in the wall Italian restaurant where he worked under the table for five dollars an hour, saving up every bit of cash he made for four years. After turning eighteen, he ventured out on his own to discover the World and what sort of meaning it held. He wound up in San Antonio and met one Brandon Bash who had been enrolled in the Shawn Michael's Wrestling Academy. After spending time with Bash, Sykes decided to enroll and use the last bit of cash he had to do so. After spending years training, he was recruited by the ECWF in Los Angeles, California, where Brandon Bash and his brother James Champ had been for at least a year before him. After he had spent a couple of years in the ECWF and winning multiple championships, he decided to go on an indefinite hiatus, which ultimately lead to his retirement. While he spent time away from wrestling, many occurrences took place to change Eli Sykes' way of life. He immediately turned to alcohol and drugs to ease his mind. After spending time in rehab, he cleaned himself up and returned to the ECWF, only to be fired and banned shortly after. Now, after being treated poorly, Eli Sykes has made his way to the AWO to pursue his future in the wrestling industry.
